School Board member Lee Jones

Incumbent Lee Jones, District 7, Bessemer School Board member, is seeking re-election. He believes education is KEY.

First elected in 2018, Jones serves on the Capital Planning Committee and Finance and Policy Committee.

The election will be held on Tuesday, August 25, with polls opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m.

His campaign slogan is, “Together, We Keep Moving Forward.”

He is committed to the students, families and community.

Jones said, “I believe in Bessemer, and it is important that we continue working closely with the superintendent to improve our school system.”

30-year employee of the Bessemer School System, he retired in 2015. Jones is also a former employee of the A. G. Gaston Boys Club in Bessemer.

Among the progress made during his last two-terms includes district-wide roof replacements, district-wide new classroom furniture, transportation building renovated and high school athletic field resurfaced.

Jones is steadfast in working to build the school system up again.
