This year, a Marvel City Southern Soul Festival will take the place of Bessemer’s annual 4th of July fireworks display and celebration.
The Marvel City Southern Soul Festival will be held on Friday, July 3. Gates open at 3 p.m., and showtime starts at 5 p.m.
The event will be held at the Kenneth Gulley Recreation Center on 14th Street in Bessemer. The Bessemer City Council is planning the celebration, and the free event is sponsored by the City of Bessemer.
The DJ is Borat, and hosting the event is Dreka Ray. The Crew is the special guest.
Among the scheduled performers are Mike Clark, Jr., Young Guy, M. Cally, and Nephew Jones.
Food vendors will be on site.
