SOUTHERN STYLES: Every day Hoover Service Club makes a difference in the lives of many

For over 51 years, the Hoover Service Club has been generous and faithful in serving the Hoover community.

It has been a Legacy of Giving since 1975.

The Hoover Service Club was founded by Flora Mae Pike.

This year, Shelley Shaw is president of the Hoover Service Club.

The September meeting, held at the Hoover Country Club, was the start of the 2026-27 year.

Executive Director of Legacy Partners in Environmental Education Toni Bruner was the guest speaker. She spoke about some of the remarkable plants, wildlife, natural resources and ecosystems found in Alabama.

Also, State House Representative Mike Shaw presented Hoover Service Club Scholarship Co-Chairs Rhonda Boyd and Donna Taylor with a $5,000 Legislative Community Grant for the scholarship program. The Hands-On Acts of Service benefited Vineyard Family Services’ BackPack Buddies.
