The NOBLE gentlemen and women have done it again. Celebrating their 50th year as a distinct and impactful organization, they’re continuing their motto of “Justice By Action,” and they’re leading with actions of great examples.
At a recent ceremony that coincided with Juneteenth and knowledge for the youth, the congregants, youth ministers and Pastor Eugene Warren,III, of 2nd Ave. Beulah Baptist Church (1022 2nd Ave. North, Bessemer, AL.) celebrated the scholarship presentations to several students as well as a special acknowledgement to an exceptional young student.
High school seniors and standout students were awarded NOBLE scholarships due to outstanding academic achievements.
“We try to add a positive footprint to the communities in which we work and serve. Education is very important to us at NOBLE, and mentoring and leadership lessons for our students that are matriculating is a big part of our Noble Alabama Chapter,” NOBLE’s Alabama Chapter President Mr. Michael Williams stated to the audience.
The scholarships are named after several key members of the NOBLE Alabama Chapter which many students have received over the past fifty years.
This year Camden Washington and Makenzie Patton were awarded the Dr. Jonathan McPherson NOBLE Scholarship Award.
We spoke to Mrs. Marie Mann who told us, “We’re all about honoring the vigorous and hard work of our kids. This means much to them, and we know it’s more than appreciated by our parents. It’s a true testament to God’s grace and continued blessings through others even in these days and times, and it’s good to be a witness of such.”
Patton will further her studious works within Lawson State Community College as Washington will go forward with his studies at the University of Alabama concentrating a focus within media-related academics.
Zariyah Johnson was also acknowledged and awarded for her ranking as Mt. Pilgrim Baptist District Association’s Spelling Bee first prize winner this year.
We appreciate the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives’ Alabama Chapter for striving even more to make a long-lasting impression throughout our communities as they set the standards of Nobility.
