The American Red Cross will hold blood drives from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Pleasant Grove Community Center, 501 Park Road, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Hueytown High School, 4881 15th Street Road.
Donors of all blood types, especially type O, are needed to keep the supply steady ahead of the holiday rush, the Red Cross said.
Everyone who comes to give through Nov. 22 gets up to $20 in gift cards: a $10 Amazon gift card by email and 500 bonus points, redeemable for a $10 e-gift card through Blood Donor Rewards.
Successful November donations also get free A1C testing, used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes (one result per calendar year). Donors should not fast beforehand. Details are at RedCrossBlood.org/Maze.
