Apostle Leonard Wood marks half-century in the ministry
On a recent Sunday, Apostle Leonard Wood celebrated 50 years in the Gospel ministry. For three years now he has also served as pastor of True Worship Ministries alongside his devoted wife, First Lady Dr. Valerie T. Wood.
During the Sunday celebration, the pastor and first lady were escorted by Deacon William Murphy and Lady Corine Carter-Murphy, and the tributary portion was overseen by Dr. John Brown.
The morning message was brought by Pastor Tyrone Fornest of Faith Chapel’s Columbus, Georgia, campus.
The evening portion was just as momentous, as Pastor Althea Long brought the evening message to congregants from Bridging the Gap Ministries, with words of encouragement from Elder Carl Givins.
Sister Taylor Oakes performed a praise dance number, the Leonard Wood Ensemble brought forth a song of praise, and tributary portions were conducted by District Missionary Glen Fitts of Faith to Favor Ministries along with Ladetrice Williams and Kimberly Reeves.
The day’s events and ceremonies were well received and deserved for a man who has given much to others and who has shared God’s word faithfully.
With dedicated members such as Sister Queen Nelson and LaSandra Conner, the atmosphere was welcoming and genuine, with love shown throughout the congregation.
We send warm wishes and support for continued service to our community through Apostle Leonard Wood and Dr. Valerie Wood and through True Worship Ministries and its flock. Congratulations, Apostle Wood.
