Salvation Army welcomes new Birmingham Area Command officers

The Salvation Army is an international organization dedicated to meeting human needs through a broad range of social services.

Recently, the Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham hosted a meet-and-greet to welcome to the Birmingham Area Command the new officers, Majs. Doug and Storm McClure.

The reception was held at the Salvation Army Center of Hope on 26th Avenue North, where they shared their vision for the Salvation Army in Central Alabama.

With over 20 years of ministry experience, the McClures are committed to serving others through the Salvation Army.

Most recently, they served as senior leaders in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Maj. Doug McClure said, “We are excited to begin this new chapter in Birmingham and look forward to building relationships, listening to the community and discovering how we can serve together.”

They are passionate about strengthening communities, developing leaders and sharing the love of Christ through compassionate service. The McClures have been married since 2003, and they have four adult sons.
