Hueytown Witches Ride and It’s Fall Y’all Fest set Oct. 24

The Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the Witches Ride of Hueytown at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, an hour before its annual It’s Fall Y’all Fest at Hueytown City Park.

The ride begins in the Food Giant parking lot across from the library and follows Hueytown Road to the park, with the witches tossing candy to children along the route. Riders 16 and older may dress as witches and ride a bicycle, golf cart or side-by-side UTV, or walk with a decorated broom. Registration is $10 a person in advance and $15 the day of the ride, at hueytownchamber.com. Prizes go to the best decorated broom, best witch costume and best decorated bicycle, golf cart and side-by-side.

It’s Fall Y’all Fest runs from 4 to 6 p.m. at the park with games, contests, food, vendors and music. Businesses, churches and organizations that want a booth should send the chamber a contact name, email and phone number by Oct. 19. Booths set up from 1 to 3 p.m., no vehicles are allowed in the park after 3 p.m., and the entrance is from 21st Street in front of Hueytown Intermediate School, not Forest Road.
