Pastor and Mrs. Shaw
Many of us search a lifetime for true companionship, love, and all the things we think will make us happy. Yet, when viewing inspiration that is right before us, we hardly even notice, let alone process, the lessons that can be learned from it.
A perfect example of inspiration and the mutual exchange of love couldn’t be more evident than in the long-lasting marriage of Reverend Sylvester and Rosie Shaw.
Recently, this humble and quiet couple celebrated 55 years of marital bliss.
Rev. Shaw is co-pastor of Greater Bethel Baptist Church and has faithfully served there with the dedicated support of Mrs. Shaw throughout the years.
His most recent sermon was dedicated to Father’s Day, taken from Proverbs 4:1–10, with the fitting subject, “The Duties of A Father.”
In today’s world, Rev. Shaw shed light on the obvious misfortunes that plague many of our youth and the failed relationships of young adults due to the lack of maturity, compromise, understanding, and, most of all, the absence of God in the midst of our lives.
Always humble and wise, and not one to speak often, when he does, it is usually to share knowledge gained through experience—words intended to inspire others and help them avoid making foolish mistakes.
Mrs. Rose shares the same calm demeanor in a graceful, womanly fashion and has proven to be a hard worker and devoted supporter, not only to her husband but also to her children, grandchildren, and church family.
We sincerely congratulate them on the exceptional example they have set for so many by showing that love conquers all and that it is more than possible to achieve the same marital bliss and devoted companionship with God at the forefront.
We wish them many more years of love together as we aspire to find the same selfless and devoted love they share, along with others who will celebrate marriage anniversaries this year and in the years to come.
“Let’s Learn to Love Unconditionally and Selflessly.”
