The members of Greater 14th Street Baptist Church are committed to serving the Bessemer community.
Part of their church outreach ministry, the historic church has sponsored a senior grocery program since 2020.
The Rev. Jiles Burgines, III, is the minister of Greater 14th Street Baptist Church, which is located at 418 14th Street, South in Bessemer.
This past Saturday, June 27, the church had another food box giveaway. They were able to distribute 175 boxes of food provided by the Central Alabama Food Bank.
Tobithean Alexander, chairman of the program, said, “The Lord has blessed us with grants and opportunities all these years to serve the needy.”
The church also provides a prayer line while the boxes are being distributed.
The next scheduled food box giveaway will be on Saturday, July 25, at 8 a.m.
The public is encouraged to participate in the giveaway.
