The first meeting of 2026 for the Hoover Service Club was ideal and educational for the start of the New Year.

The motto of the organization, which was established in 1975, is Compassion, Unity and Generosity.

The Hoover Country Club was the site for the monthly meeting.

City of Hoover Director of Parks and Recreation, Erin Colbaugh, was the guest speaker at the 11:30 meeting. Club President Heather Pierce presided at the monthly meeting.

Following the program, the ladies — looking lovely in their winter fashions — enjoyed a delicious luncheon.

A detail-oriented person with a steadfast commitment to excellence, Erin spoke on her role as Director of Hoover Parks and Recreation and its service and operation.

In her position, she provides valuable leadership and is dedicated to serving and meeting the needs of the community. Her responsibilities include overseeing departmental budgeting, long-range planning, facility and program operations, and staff leadership. She ensures that resources are aligned with community needs and organizational goals.

Erin’s extensive background in large-scale events prepared her on how best to manage complex operations and provide high-quality services.

The members and their guests brought donations supporting women through Bundles of Hope.
