Trick or Treaters playing Clown Toss
The trick or treaters began arriving at dusk. Legions of costumed characters—some wearing coats and sweaters over their costumes, lined Fifth Avenue and 13th Street, North for the Bessemer Salvation Army’s 4th annual Hallelujah Carnival.
All in anticipation of a safe and fun-filled Halloween with lots and lots of candy and hot dogs.
Sergeants Becky and Jim Lahman, local administrators, planned the free event. The carnival was a Halloween alternative.
Sgt. Jim stated, “It is an honor and a privilege for the Salvation Army to be able to provide a safe place for the children to have fun on Halloween.”
Among the planned activities included pony rides, a bouncy house, clown toss, face painting, can toss, corn hole and basketball toss.
Children chaperoned by their parents, spent the two hours delighting in the games, getting candy, riding the pony and hearing Bible stories.
The Hallelujah Carnival filled their lives with hope and joy.
