“First, giving honor to God who’s the head of my life. I thank Him for keeping me and blessing me with the support of my family and church family as well,” Sister Jessie Waller told us this past Sunday.

October being Cancer Awareness Month, Pastor Eades and the Greater Bethel Church family took time to honor Sister Waller’s triumph over an extreme health battle by wearing pink and Cancer Awareness t-shirts while sharing refreshments of gratefulness with the congregation.

It’s been 32 years since Sister Waller was diagnosed with breast cancer, yet with prayers from her pastor, herself and loved ones, Sister Waller has prevailed and proven a true fighter.

Throughout the years she has become an advocate against such a disease that many have faced, yet she is continuing to be a living inspiration for many from the fighters to the hopeless, proving that with sheer courage and faith one can beat cancer of all kinds.

During her tumultuous cancer battle, Sister Waller made mention of her dear friend Sister Vera Eades’ faithful friendship during such times.

“During my days of chemo, Sister Eades was always by my bedside and helped me during my lowest time.”

We salute Sister Jessie Waller and her encouraging spirit and continued fight for health awareness.

Yet held in October, we salute survivors and the memory of all throughout the year. Let’s continue supporting and helping our sick and shut-in and being healthily aware by all means.
