A multi-colored landscape mural in shades of blue, pink and yellow has been painted on the exterior wall at the Jess Lanier Manor’s Community Center. It will lift your spirits.
Jess Lanier Manor, an apartment living community, is a facility of the Bessemer Housing Authority and is located at 1500 Exeter Avenue between Dartmouth Avenue and Fairfax Avenue in Bessemer.
The motto of the Housing Authority is “Delivering Hope.”
Located in the rear of the manor, the beautiful, peaceful mural was painted by students at the UAB Art Department.
The project was part of a summer children and youth camp sponsored by the Bessemer Housing Authority, their partners and UAB. Several residents of the manor even participated in the project.
It is indeed a bright, cheerful spot in Bessemer and one that the community will delight in visiting. Plus, the residents will enjoy the company.
