It was a perfectly beautiful day for a cookout.
The outdoor event was hosted by Mona and Commissioner Jimmie Stephens at the Stephens’ barn on Morgan Road.
The casual cookout benefitted ROAR, Radiation Oncology Accelerated Research at UAB.
Mona is president of ROAR. ROAR is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2009 to support the UAB Radiation Oncology Department.
The mission of the organization is to raise funds for UAB cancer research.
The delicious barbeque with all the trimmings was donated by Bob Sykes BBQ.
The entertainment was provided by Jack Whisenhunt.
The organization’s annual ROAR Gala is planned for January 24, 2026 at the Sheraton Downtown.
