Council members pose with city employees(above)
This past Monday, City of Bessemer employees were surprised with a day of appreciation in their honor. In congruence with the Bessemer Mayor’s Office, Bessemer City Council members showed much love to their city employees.
Councilman, Jarvis Collier told us, “We understand in total the hard work our city employees put in, along with their extra efforts. We pay more attention than what is realized.”
In partnership with Magic City Grille (1901 2nd Ave. North- Bessemer, AL. 35020), Bessemer employees were served some of the finest dishes the restaurant offers.
Through a team effort alongside the hard work of Bessemer’s City Council Assistant, Angela Coleman, the city council has raised funds byway of donations and sponsorships for events such as these.
Donations and sponsors include Mr. Eugene Pitts (Pitts & Associates), Ron Gilbert (Bessemer Engineering), J. Holt (Holt Insurance), and Mr. Walter Lewis (Piper Davis representative).
Councilman Collier spoke further with us, saying, “From the Bessemer Mayor’s office and City Council officials this is a sincere token of our appreciation. This is not just a one time event, but is the start of an annual event where our city employees will be shown appreciation even more through the efforts of Bessemer Council members.”
From great food and gift bags to a prize winning raffle drawing, Mayor Gulley and the Bessemer City Council really put smiles on their city employees’ faces. Many of the workers shared smiles and expressions of appreciation amongst each other and to city officials themselves.
Councilman Chester Porter also spoke with us, saying, “We’re appreciative to our city employees, for they’re the nucleus of our community. From our Public Works Department to our Municipal buildings workers and everyone as a whole, it’s a team of people working together as one to move the city forward.”
We give sincere thanks to our Bessemer city employer for all they do alongside the sincere thoughts and consideration of Mayor Kenneth Gulley and Bessemer City Council members.
“Keep Up The Gr8 Work, Everyone.”
