The Bessemer City Council has approved a resolution extending a street patching project contract for an additional calendar year.
The City Council finds it in the best interest of the city to approve the contract extension.
Bessemer City Engineer Ron Gilbert recommended the extension of the contract to continue the work they are presently doing in Bessemer. The majority of the work required is patching utility cuts in the city’s roadways.
The contract with Central Alabama Asphalt & Construction Company was entered into on October 1, 2024, and expired on September 30, 2025.
Central Alabama agreed to extend the contract for an additional calendar year starting October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. The same terms, conditions and unit prices will remain the same as stated in the first contract.
Their work has been superior.
Councilman Jarvis Collier made a motion to approve the resolution. Councilman Teco Stephens seconded the motion. The motion carried.
