Captain Kyle Roy(above)
15-year veteran, Bessemer Fire Department Lt. Kyle Roy was recently promoted to fire captain at Station Five located in McNeil.
A resident of Chelsea, Capt. Roy is dedicated to serving the good people of Bessemer.
Capt. Roy’s duties will include serving as the lead officer over the hazardous materials team and responding to all emergency calls out of Station Five. He is also the lead officer of the fire truck.
“I think it is a great honor to be promoted to the rank of captain. I take this responsibility seriously for I am committed to improving the services we provide to the community,” said Capt. Roy.
He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern in 2019.
A company officer, the 39- year-old firefighter has been a nationally registered paramedic since 2008 and has received several certificates for leadership from the Alabama Fire College.
