William D. Garner, 21, of McCalla was injured and a Brent woman was killed when the 2005 Ram 2500 pickup he was driving and a 2008 Chevrolet Express Van collided head-on at about 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, on Alabama 216 in Tuscaloosa County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Carina V. Perez, 19, of Brent, a passenger in the Chevrolet, was pronounced dead at the scene, ALEA said.
Garner and the driver of the Chevrolet, Arcenio V. Reynoso, 24, of Brent, were taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
The crash happened near the 24 mile marker, about two miles west of Lake View. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating.
