Once again, a real sense of community was realized by the citizens, law enforcement and first responders in Hueytown.
Part of a nationwide movement, National Night Out was a fun, family-friendly event held recently in Hueytown. The meet-and-greet occasion welcomed the public to visit with public officials, community partners, elected leaders, police officers and firefighters.
Among the activities enjoyed by the children were face painting, inflatables and talking with Chase from Paw Patrol and Mr. Pig from Piggly Wiggly.
The event was held Aug. 22 at Hueytown High School from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Organizing the community event were Debbie Kiker, Chief Danny Sullivan, Lt. Michael Shupe and DWayne Gant of Hueytown Public Works.
