Bessemer Public Library Book & Bake Sale relaxing, delicious for patrons

A brownie or a chocolate chip cookie goes together deliciously with a good book.

It is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Maybe that was one reason the Friends of the Bessemer Public Library held their annual Book and Bake Sale on Saturday, September 6.

Linda Ward Sunday is president of the Friends of the Bessemer Public Library.

Betty Johnson was chairman of the event.

Omar Chapman is director of the Bessemer Library.

Patrons and the public alike began arriving at 10 a.m., and the event ended at 2 p.m.

Many treated themselves to yummy goodies and interesting books.

Needless to say, the assortment of baked goods was a crowd favorite.

Members assisting with the fundraiser were Chairman Betty Johnson, Claire Rhea, Linda Ward Sunday, Helen Willoughby, Venedia Wallace, Angel Hudson, Joann Moore, Linda Lacey, Gwendolyn Miller and Belinda Johnson.

The Bessemer Public Library is fortunate to have an organization that is dedicated to supporting the library.
