Marianna Phillips, Director of Life Enrichment at Galleria Woods Senior Living Community in Hoover, is indeed an asset to Galleria Woods. This charming young lady with a pleasant personality has been with Galleria Woods since March of this year.
A member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Marianna genuinely cares about and enjoys being with the residents. She thinks of them as family. Marianna’s rotating schedule of activities provides the residents with exciting, fun-filled events.
She is a 2021 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations.

Marianna: Galleria Woods is a warm, inviting community for active seniors looking to form meaningful friendships and increase their quality of life. The location and friendly staff make Galleria Woods a choice address.
What are your responsibilities?
Marianna: My core responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating activities, designing the monthly newsletter, and planning transportation to accommodate the abundance of off-campus activities we offer.
What are your duties?
Marianna: As the director of Life Enrichment, it is my duty to provide the residents with resources to further their wellness journey and to encourage them along the way.
What gives you joy?
Marianna: I love the outdoors. Being outside and taking in the sounds of nature while exploring gives me joy.
Tell me about your family?
Marianna: I am the only child of Deborah and Jim Phillips of Birmingham. My family is from Blount County, and my uncle is Dr. Doug Phillips, the host of Discovering Alabama.
Do you have a favorite meal?
Marianna: I really enjoy scallops served with roasted broccoli, a loaded baked potato, and for dessert, tiramisu.
Do you have a favorite author?
Marianna: American thriller author Freida McFadden. Her 2022 novel The Housemaid became an international bestseller.
What is your favorite movie?
Marianna: The 1991 drama Fried Green Tomatoes starring Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy.
