Lace Up for Change: Impact Road Race returns October 4 to Oak Mountain

PELHAM, Ala. – Registration is now open for the 2025 Impact Road Race, happening Saturday, October 4 at the scenic Oak Mountain State Park. Runners and walkers of all levels are invited to participate in the 5K, 10K, or 1-Mile Family Fun Run, starting near the Lakeside and Dogwood Pavilions.

This inspiring annual event supports Seeds of Impact, a nonprofit transforming the lives of mothers in recovery and their children. Funds raised help provide trauma-informed parenting education and longterm support to break the cycle of addiction and create generational change.

“Every step in this race represents hope and healing for families in our community,” said Rachel Gunn, Executive Director of Seeds of Impact and author of Impact Parenting. “When participants show up, they walk alongside moms and children who are rebuilding their lives together.”

In 2024, the Impact Road Race helped support over 50 mothers and 100 children, offering critical tools, encouragement, and connection for families on the path to recovery. The 2025 race aims to expand that impact.
