The Bessemer City Council has established the qualifying dates for the city’s upcoming municipal elections this summer.
The municipal elections will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
On the ballot will be the offices of:
- Mayor
- Seven City Council seats
- Seven School Board seats
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
According to the Bessemer City Clerk’s Office, qualifying opens on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, and will close on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 5 p.m.
Those interested in qualifying must do so at the Bessemer City Clerk’s Office, located on the first floor of Bessemer City Hall, 1700 3rd Avenue North.
Bessemer has 11 voting precincts in municipal elections, including an absentee polling precinct.
