Tell me about The Christian Bookstore?
Lamanda: I have been the owner of the bookstore since December of 2016. Originally known as the Christian Way Bookstore, I acquired it from a Mr. and Mrs. Simmons. It is known as The Christian Bookstore & More, LLC. We have been truly blessed to remain open at a time when many bookstores have closed.
What items make up your inventory?
Lamanda: We offer a variety of products and services including Bible engraving, church supplies, Sunday school materials, gift items, communion supplies, bookmarks, scripture cards, Vacation Bible School materials, hymnals, pew sashes, and more.
Who is your favorite author?
Lamanda: One of my favorite authors is T. D. Jakes. Known as a preacher and a pastor, he is also a powerful writer. His books speak the truth and enlighten the reader on his spiritual journey.
What is your favorite meal?
Lamanda: I enjoy collard greens, mac and cheese, baked or fried chicken, fried cornbread, and for dessert, old-fashioned oven-baked banana pudding, all with sweet tea.
What is your goal for the business?
Lamanda: Our website address is www.thechristianbookstore.net. My goal is to maintain and operate a physical store where people can come in and shop. Convenience matters.
How will you celebrate Easter?
Lamanda: I will worship at church and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
What gives you joy?
Lamanda: I define joy as a state of contentment. For me, helping others, bringing understanding, and living in peace gives me joy. It is truly one of the fruits of the Spirit.
