Among the joys of Easter is the arrival of the Easter Bunny. My interview with him was so much fun. For many, Peter Rabbit is the Easter Bunny—we will never know. A European rabbit, he wears a blue jacket as he goes from house to house and garden to garden.
A beloved character, Peter loves to paint and create beautiful designs on his Easter eggs. With help from his relatives and friends, he delivers chocolate bunnies, toys, and of course, his Easter eggs to all the good little boys and girls.
Peter is looking forward to this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll. He is co-hosting the exciting event with President and Mrs. Trump on Monday, April 6. Following Easter, Peter can be spotted in gardens during the spring and summer.
What is your favorite pastime outside of work?
Peter: I really enjoy the children’s game hide and seek with my fellow rabbits.
What is your favorite meal?
Peter: My favorite meal is crispy celery, lettuce, radishes, cabbage, and a fresh carrot salad. I have a sweet tooth, so for dessert I enjoy carrot cake, blackberry jam on scones, and stewed gooseberries with whipped cream.
What is your favorite color?
Peter: I love pastels because they are bright and beautiful. My favorite colors are blue and purple.
Are you delivering anything special to The White House?
Peter: I am delivering to President and Mrs. Trump two special edition chocolate Easter eggs covered with gold leaf. They are in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
Who is your favorite author?
Peter: Well, that is a silly question. My favorite author is Beatrix Potter.
Do you ever take a vacation?
Peter: No, sir, but if I ever did, I would visit Ireland with its rich culture. It is also one of the most beautiful and charming countries in the world.
Do you have a favorite movie?
Peter: I love the classic movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, because Wonka loves candy, too.
What are your plans when you leave The White House?
Peter: I will catch a ride with President Trump on Air Force One to the Gulf of America and go deep-sea fishing with Santa Claus and Baby New Year.
