The Annual State Meeting and Convention of the Alabama Society, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) was held last weekend, March 13–14, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Hoover.
Members from the 13 chapters attended the annual meeting and participated in various sessions, meetings, workshops, and the SAR banquet.
Benny H. Hannah of Madison serves as President of the Alabama Society, Sons of the American Revolution. Dr. Ronald N. Dains, PhD, is the president-elect of the organization.
As the 2026 Alabama Society, SAR President, Dr. Dains will focus on three key areas outlined in the SAR Mission Statement: Patriotic Service, Historic Preservation, and Educational Outreach.
During the Saturday afternoon session, Dr. Dains outlined key mission goals with ALSSAR officers, chapter presidents, and vice-presidents.
The highlight of the convention was the annual black-tie Alabama State SAR banquet, held Saturday evening at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
Secretary General William Allen Greenly, of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution (Delaware), served as the guest speaker.
