What attracted you to politics?
Gaile: Growing up in a home centered on service and leadership inspired me to give back. I saw firsthand how strong, caring leadership can shape a community. I felt called to be a part of that positive impact here in Hueytown.

What are your duties as a councilwoman?
Gaile: As one of the newer council members, I see my responsibility as being a strong liaison and advocate for the residents and businesses in my district.

Tell me the goals for your district?
Gaile: Most importantly, to continue improving the city’s parks for our youth and all our residents. I want to see Hueytown and my district continue moving forward in a strong direction. Our schools are making great progress.

What is your favorite meal?
Gaile: I love a fresh Caesar or Greek salad topped with salmon, and my favorite dessert is warm bread pudding; it’s hard to beat!

What gives you joy?
Gaile: I love spending time with my family, trips to the lake, playing tennis and pickleball. Also, serving alongside people who care deeply about our city is truly rewarding.

Tell me about your family?
Gaile: My family is my greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. My son, Jackson, is a pastor at a church in Sandy Springs, Georgia. He and his wife, Raelyn, have three precious sons. My daughter, Lauren, lives in Fultondale with her husband, Joseph, and works as a dental hygienist.

Do you have a favorite movie?
Gaile: I have three favorite movies. First, the 1993 sports film, “Rudy;” next, another sports drama, “Rocky” and “Rocky II.”

What adjustments or challenges have you faced?
Gaile: Not getting to do everything I would like to do.
