The Salvation Army has been serving God with their hearts and with their hands for over 160 years.
The Bessemer Salvation Army has been meeting the needs of the Bessemer community since 1903.
Long associated with the good work of the Salvation Army is the Christmas bell ringer, whose presence signals the start of the Christmas season. For over 100 years, the men and women of the Bessemer Salvation Army have faithfully collected the public’s spare change. These monies greatly benefit the local community at Christmastime and throughout the year.
This season, the bell ringers are located at the front doors of the Bessemer Walmart on Academy Drive.
The goal of the Bessemer Corps/church is $75,000. Every kettle stand has a QR Code for online giving. Otherwise, the public can mail a check to the Bessemer Salvation Army, 525 13th Street, North, Bessemer, 35020.
Your gift to the organization makes Christmas brighter for many.
The ringing of the bells will be silenced at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve, just in time for a silent night . . . .
