Patients spending Thanksgiving week at Children’s of Alabama took part in one of the hospital’s favorite holiday activities. The annual Pre-Thanksgiving Day parade took place on Tuesday.
Balloons, floats, and some four-legged friends could be seen walking through the hospital’s inpatient units. Patients could watch the parade from their doorway or on closed-circuit television. The parade broadcast featured special guests, including CBS 42’s morning news anchor, Andrea Lindenberg. It also featured virtual greetings and performances from the Alabama Ballet, the Birmingham Squadron, the Birmingham Children’s Theatre, the Phi Mu Alpha Zeta Chapter at the University of Alabama, and the University of Alabama men’s and women’s hockey teams.
Children’s is thankful to everyone who made this year’s parade possible for patients and their families, including the staff, community partners, and Walmart and Sam’s Club locations throughout Alabama.
