District Four Discretionary Fund benefits Latch & Live program

A resolution appropriating funds from Bessemer City Councilwoman Donna Thigpen’s Discretionary Fund was recently approved at a Bessemer City Council meeting.

Councilwoman Thigpen requested that funds in the amount of $500 from her Discretionary Fund Line-Item Number 001-10000-024-527067 be given to Latch & Live, a non-profit organization in Bessemer.

Latch & Live, located at 2015 10th Avenue, North, Bessemer, is committed to ending homelessness by providing transitional shelter, food, and clothing to those in need in the Bessemer area.

At a regularly scheduled meeting of the Bessemer City Council, with a quorum being present, it was determined that supporting this organization serves a public purpose in the promotion of public health, safety, morals, contentment, and the general welfare of the community.
