She brings joy to the lives of children.
Debbie Pope of Chelsea has been given a gift, and she has chosen to use it for what matters.
This remarkably talented home décor seamstress makes a difference in the lives of others every day with her fine hand sewing.
Raised in Gadsden, this unassuming woman with a keen eye has been sewing all of her life.
I first met her at an event where she was generously giving her handmade Christmas stockings to needy children. They are beautiful works of art.
Pope and her husband Charley Pope are committed to helping children.
This charitable lady with a kind disposition sews for her children and grandchildren, but most importantly, for the Shrine Hospital Kids of the Zamora Shrine Center.
Along with the stockings, Pope sews quilts, table runners, memory quilts, placemats, pillowcases, and utensil holders.
A creative artist, Pope has been sewing purses for Sew Powerful Ministry in California since May of 2023. Her purses—1,311 to date—help young girls in Zambia, Africa, to continue their education by staying in school.
