Navigate Affordable Housing Partners grant benefits Camp Bessemer

At a recent meeting of the Bessemer City Council it was approved to accept a grant from Navigate Affordable Housing Partners to benefit Camp Bessemer.

Camp Bessemer is a summer youth employment program designed to provide meaningful work experience and career development opportunities for students ages 14-18.

The grant is in the amount of $100,000.00 for the reimbursement of expenses. This generous grant will enhance services and provide training and supervision for participating students and the community.

Bessemer Mayor Kenneth Gulley reported that the city of Bessemer provides $125,000 toward the summer youth employment program.

Councilman Cleo King made a motion to Resolution No. 813-25. Councilwoman Carla Jackson and Councilman Teco Stephens seconded the motion. The motion carried.
