Financial Literacy Workshop held in Bessemer

A “Food, Fun and Financial Literacy” information session was held last Monday, October 27, in Bessemer.

The Financial Literacy program was sponsored by the Bessemer Business Incubation System who has partnered with the Central Alabama Redevelopment Alliance (CARA), PNC Bank and the Bessemer Redevelopment Alliance.

The kick-off event was held at the Thompson Manor Community Center, 1520 Exeter Court in Bessemer from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Devron Veasley is coordinating the project. “Being financially literate is one of the most important aspects of financial management,” stated Veasley.

The objective is to offer to the public a number of planned programs and workshops concerning financial education and awareness.

The programs and workshops are scheduled at various locations around the Bessemer area including the James E. Mulkin Downtown Business Center.
