Witches, devils and Dracula are discouraged from attending the carnival, but all other characters are welcome.

The annual Bessemer Salvation Army Hallelujah Carnival will take place on Friday, October 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Planning the free event are local Salvation Army administrators Becky and Jim Lahman.

“We are excited to host the Halloween Carnival and meet our neighbors and friends in the community,” said Becky Lahman.

The Halloween night event will be held at the Bessemer Salvation Army located at 525 13th Street, North in Bessemer.

The evening of fun will feature lots and lots of candy, games and food for the whole family. The event is a Halloween alternative. Costumes are welcome, but try to avoid scary and evil costumes.
