The Housing Authority of the City of Bessemer recently honored the Youth- Build Class of 2025.

The 26 students’ commitment to academic success was evident by their graduation. These outstanding achievements will serve them well in their respective jobs.

The 2025 Fall Class Graduation Ceremony was held on Wednesday, September 3, at the Bessemer Civic Center.

The commencement speaker was Jeremy L. Spratling.

The members of the graduating class exhibited dedication, perseverance and excellence in their work and studies.

The YouthBuild Program empowers at-risk youth ages 16-24 to earn a high school diploma or the equivalent while gaining job skills in construction and healthcare. They develop leadership skills and prepare for employment or furthering their education.

The participants receive hands-on training, certifications and wraparound support including mentoring, case management and job placement.

The program includes a 12-month follow-up that supports long-term success.
