“Five Years of Steadfastness”
“Used to suggest solid and firm, unshaken and resolute, Steadfast. A person who’s Steadfast is immovable and incapable of being diverted from a primary purpose or mission. I love and thank GOD for this assignment He’s given me, and I take it seriously,” said Pastor Marvin Williams of Friendship Baptist Church- 709 12th Street North- Bessemer, AL 35020.
Celebrating his fifth year of pastoral duties for the Friendship congregation, this anniversary held all the fixings for the Friendship Church family, visitors and friends, as the church’s kitchen committee made sure everyone was served and well fed.
Welcoming and hospitable, the atmosphere was highlighted with an air of graciousness, humility and love.
Pulpit conductor duties were handled by Retired Pastor, Rev. Cornelius Harris, Sr., as the FBC Combined Choirs stirred the congregation with moving spiritual ladened tunes.
This year’s pastoral anniversary theme came from 1st Timothy 5:17 with the headline Great Is Thou Faithfulness.
Church guests of the hour came from Pastor Tony Ware and the New Antioch Baptist Church as Pastor Ware rendered a powerful message from 1st Thessalonians 5 16- 18 with the subject ‘Be Grateful’.
A stirring message that held a direct emphasis on being humble and thankful to GOD despite what we as humans may fail to understand, for so much in life could be worse, so be grateful for things great but more so for things small.
Friendship Baptist Church’s first Lady Circealtric Williams spoke to the congregation on how thankful she is to her church family as well as how blessed her and her family has been through GOD’S graciousness.
Pastor Williams continued telling us, “This mission is not about me, it’s about GOD. I wouldn’t dare say this journey has been easy because it has not, but GOD has told me to stay on the wall, Preach My Word!”
We give sincere congratulatory wishes to Pastor Williams and the inspiration he continues to provide within our communities, along with his wife, family and devoted church family.
