September is Suicide Prevention Month. Support is only a call away.

Suicide affects everybody. You are not alone.

A call can make an unforgettable difference in the life of a veteran.

Lawson State Community College remembers and honors our veterans.

Earlier this month, nearly 50 students, faculty and staff of Lawson State participated in Operation We Remember, the State of Alabama’s campaign to remember the 139 veterans who lost their lives to suicide in 2023 (The latest year data is available).

Lawson State Community College President Dr. Cynthia Anthony stated, “Operation We Remember is very important to Lawson State because we value our veterans.”

This is the fourth year that Lawson State has joined the statewide campaign and planted 139 flags in a public display in memory of the veterans.

Suicide is the second-leading cause of death for veterans under the age of 45.
