At a recent meeting of the Bessemer City Council, a resolution was approved authorizing Bessemer Mayor Kenneth Gulley to enter into a contract with the owner of 4th Avenue Estates.
This contract will ensure a timely and effective resolution concerning the public nuisance conditions.
There are certain parcels located within the 4th Avenue Estates that constitute public nuisances under City Ordinance No. 3562.
The property owner was ordered to take immediate and appropriate corrective action to abate the public nuisance conditions.
The contract will include provisions to ensure complete rectification of the nuisance conditions in compliance with the city of Bessemer’s ordinances and building codes.
This was done in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public.
Councilman Jarvis Collier made a motion to approve the resolution. Councilmen Teco Stephens and Chester W. Porter seconded the motion. The motion carried.
