“We had a great time. People were able to come out and learn things about themselves they may or may have not been already aware of regarding their health and other vital information,” said Greater Bethel Baptist’s Pastor James Eades.

This past Saturday, the Greater Bethel Baptist Church family hosted their very first Health Fair, which was seen as a communal effort.

In partnership with Archwell Health, Greater Bethel saw to it that church members and Bessemer residents received a hospitable and welcoming experience upon their grounds.

Archwell Health’s membership consultant JoJo Greenhouse was on hand pointing visitors in the right direction to receive necessary information and health tests granted through the fair.

She told us, “Being here today with Pastor Eades and the Greater Bethel Church family has been a rewarding experience. You don’t get what you do at health fairs such as these where dynamic doctors will see to it you’re examined from top to bottom and will begin communications between you and your specialist to see to it you receive everything needed for a healthier future. We’re glad to be apart of this very first Health Fair for the Greater Bethel ministry.”

On hand also were Bessemer’s BPW Organization (Business and Professional Women Organization), who shared information regarding entrepreneurial advice and pamphlets, alongside Veins In Motion who offered blood pressure checks and information as Brianna’s Natural Infusions shared body pain relief information along with natural soap, body butter and hair growth products.

Gospel classics and inspirational music were handled by DJ K.C.

Kids and adults enjoyed the healthy Cake Walk where they stood the chance to win gift bags filled with vegetable treats, as Mr. Michael Pullum of M & H Moon Rental prepared delicious popcorn bags while kids enjoyed the bouncing houses supplied by him as well.

“We’re glad to have been able to share such with our community and happy to have had those come out and receive necessary health awareness. It’s simply been a success that God helped prepare us for,” Pastor Eades also stated.

We celebrate churches such as Greater Bethel who are taking a stand to see to it we all understand and get the chance to better know just how healthy we really are.
