First Financial to host Financial Literacy Class September 23

Today, learning to manage and safeguard your finances requires discipline and education. First Financial Bank and the Jefferson County Treasure’s Office have partnered to sponsor a Financial Literacy Class on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

First Financial is one of the few remaining small, community banks in Jefferson County. Kyle Goodwin is president of First Financial Bank.

The class will be held at the Bessemer Public Library starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.

Starr Largin, senior vicepresident with Finovifi, will be the guest speaker.

The library is located at 400 19th Street, North in downtown Bessemer.

Those attending the meeting will learn practical tips and essential skills to managing their money.

First Financial First-Vice- President Karen Moody stated, “We are focused on elder financial awareness; particularly preventing the loss of lifesavings by ruthless, common criminals.”

This free, financial class will address the basics of budgeting, saving, maintaining private financial information and making smart financial choices.
